Each week Dragons Den star Theo Paphitis takes some time out of his busy schedule to run a weekly twitter competition which he calls Small Business Sunday (SBS).  Small Giraffe Sculpture business owners can tweet a short description of their business at Theo where he chooses 6 lucky people to be retweeted as part of Small Business Sunday. Recently Theo picked an interesting candidate to win SBS from our local area.

Tommy Craggs runs his own business specialising in the somewhat eccentric art of chainsaw sculpting. Part art and part danger, Tommy’s work has won awards in the UK and also around the world with a range of his fantastic sculptures.

His work really pricked the interest of the famous entrepreneur getting him a retweet from Theo to his 270,000 follows and a listing on theopaphitissbs.com with all of the other winners of the prestigious SBS competition.  After being named as an SBS winner Tommy Said, “It is great to have support from Theo to raise my profile and Theo has recognised my hard work and helped spread the word about what I do to his following. Given thousands of companies enter the #SBS competition I am particularly pleased and excited to be one of the six weekly winners.”

It’s great to see a local business person getting the recognition they deserve, increased social media presence and an interest in Tommy and his business. You can follow Tommy on twitter @treesculpting or find his website at www.treesculpting.co.uk. Make sure you check out his amazing work.
