Only 3 days into the Premier League transfer window and what Newcastle’s fans feared most has become a reality. On the 2nd of the January 2013, Senegalese striker Demba Bapremier league transfer was snapped up by Chelsea FC due to his electric form and low minimum release clause of only £7 million. Demba Ba was a Newcastle favourite scoring 13 goals so far this season. His goal scoring form should have lead to a much higher offer for his services from Chelsea but the minimum release clause in his contract allowed him to leave for pittance. With and Ba have been having problems working together so far this season so maybe giving Cisse his chance to shine in the spotlight once more. This isn’t the only Premier League transfer news from the Magpies.

In other transfer news there was a special guest at Newcastle’s 2-1 defeat to Everton last night as LOSC full back Matheiu Debuchy was spotted with the injured Yohan Cabaye checking out St James Park before his imminent Premier League transfer. The 27 year old full back has a great record for the French National team and has the pace to really shake up the right side since Danny Simpson is refusing to sign a new contract. Let’s hope he isn’t the only arrival on Tyneside this January.

Sunderland star Jack Colback calling for Sunderland to reinforce their lines this month, Sunderland have already sold one player and are looking to lose even more as the month goes on. David Meyler has already moved club deciding to switch Sunderland for Championship club Hull. Striker Fraizer Campbell is also looking at a move to Hull and could be a great boost for their promotion chances. Sunderland need to make a Premier League transfer this year or they could suffer.

As both North East Premier League clubs look at a possible relegation battle at the business end of this season, both clubs need to strengthen to claw their way back to safety.
