Local company SMARTT North East Ltd was very pleased to be chosen by Durham County Council to offer new learning opportunities for adults.Smartt logo

SMARTT is working partnership with Consett AFC to bring courses to the local area. The club has already hosted short courses in Emergency First Aid and Paediatric First Aid for a total of 30 learners. Barry also delivered Paediatric First Aid in Craghead with 16 local residents turning up on often snowy nights in January to increase their knowledge of first aid in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.

More short courses in First Aid and Food Safety are planned along with new programmes developed especially for Derwentside including:

Accelerate – a support programme for unemployed professionals accredited by NCFE with input from local businesses. This is a chance to meet like-minded jobseekers and network with local businesses over 6 days in April.

Family Active – a new way for parents and children to play together, learning map reading and orienteering skills before taking part in a family challenge to put learning into action. Dates for Easter holidays coming soon!
