Not to be outdone by Sony’s console release a few months ago, Microsoft have gone all out at the release of the successor to the Xbox 360, the Xbox One. The sleek black xbox one consett magazineconsole was unveiled at a special event on the 21st of May which was broadcast across the internet for Microsoft fans to get a glimpse of what is in store for the future of Microsoft console gaming.

Scheduled for release at the end of the year, this new generation of games console is 10 times more powerful that the previous models which have sold millions of units across the globe bringing gaming well and truly into the mainstream. The Xbox One is stated to have an AMD 8-Core processor and 8Gb of DDR3 RAM to provide the user with an even better gaming experience. One of the big talking points surrounding the Xbox One was that the Kinect system which brought the Xbox 360 critical acclaim for its intuitive motion and voice activated controls. This has been announced as a standard periphery for the new console bringing next level voice recognition to our living rooms.

One of the controversial issues surrounding the new Xbox One is that pre-owned games will not be freely available without having to pay an extra fee to unlock the game for use on a new console. EA have been known to do this for the online component of a number of their games but this will apply to all pre-owned titles. A similar system is expected to be employed by Sony on the Playstation 4 to encourage users to buy new to support the developers who create the work.

Whilst Sony has somewhat overshadowed the specs of the Xbox One, the battle between these titans of gaming will certainly be interesting. As mobile gaming on the latest smart phones keeps getting more popular you have to wonder if these all new consoles are already out of date?
