For many people raising money for charity is a way to push your physical limits whilst earning money for a good cause. For others, it is a great way to have fun and support a Castleside Calendar Girlsnoble cause. For some of the female residents of Castleside, it is definitely the latter.  When looking for a way to raise money for some ways to raise cash for the 80 year old Village Hall, local hospice WillowBurn and also Cancer Research UK, the idea of a risqué yet tasteful calendar of Castleside’s lovely ladies was a great plan.

Like the hit 2003 film Calendar Girls, Heather and the rest of the girls have been getting their kit off for the camera to help support the local village hall and cancer charities. The tag line of “Celebrating our Assets” is a glorious play on words which has a tongue in cheek way of looking at posing nude to help Castleside’s village hall. The 12 or so local women looking to make a difference have been getting involved with local photographer Sarah Thew behind the camera to make sure all of the shots look classy and elegant.

The girls are looking to give 100% of the money raised to charity by trying to get local businesses to cover production costs through sponsorship of the calendar. This way all of the proceeds can be given to the local and national causes the girls are trying to support. This transparency is a great way to run any sort of charity event as it lets the public know exactly how well their money is being managed. With the calendar going into production in the middle of September, calendars will be available for purchase at £10 each ready with plenty of time for Christmas and the coming year.
