The new Tesco Extra store built on the Genesis Way has officially opened it’s doors for trading for the first time this morning. A rush of people from the area have already been to visit the new store to see what it has to offer. It wasn’t too long ago that the new Morrisons store on Front Street opened up to the public but it seems the people of Consett are still excited about the possibility of finding a great deal at the new store.
The store has a fresh look with wooden support beams throughout which give the store a very clean and sustainable look. The huge store has a great selection of stock which ranges greatly from the usual supermarket. The store contains a large selection of electronic goods with it’s in store phone shop and wide range of tablet computing options ranging from the £129 Hudl from Tesco to the fully fledged iPad. There is a wide range of clothing available in store for all ages making Tesco Extra a great place to shop and pick up a bargain.
At 9am this morning the car park was packed with people waiting to see what was in the new addition to Consett’s amenities. Outside was Tesco’s giant trolley with a stunt driver standing in wait outside ready to take it for a spin. This novel idea added a certain spice to the already lively opening day which will no doubt hold the new store in good stead. The store is also home to a Timpson’s key cutter and coblers, a dry cleaner and has it’s own free bus to the Consett town centre. It seems as if Tesco are really trying to reach out to the local community which will no doubt be greatly appreciated by the people of the local area.
The new Tesco Extra store is now open and can be found on Genesis Way.
