The aim of the festival is to get local people to come together and raise awareness of small local businesses. Consett Festival is a gathering to help small businesses advertise themselves, and to give families a good valued day out. All money made from the previous year will be carried on to the following year to improve the festival quality. The main
aim is to try to create a great day out for all the family to enjoy with live, local music and to celebrate the history and future of Consett.
The festival will take place in the safe environment of the rugby grounds with the entrance and exit constantly monitored. Inside the grounds you will find stalls selling craft items, jewellery, home made goods and local businesses discussing, demonstrating and advertising what they have to offer. There will be bands performing on several stages around the grounds from all over the North East. There will be childrens’ entertainment including face painting, bouncy castles, craft workshops, all of these will be free of charge to children under the ages of 13 years old. There’s always something for the adults too including a bar serving alcohol, vendors selling a variety of hot and cold food or drinks.
So if you are up for a crazy weekend of music and fun get yourself down to Consett Festival 2014 at Consett Rugby Club, tickets are £4 on Friday, £7 on Saturday. Kids’ tickets on Saturday are also £4.
