In aid of the World Autism Awareness Day, The Empire Theatre will be hosting two special ‘Autism Friendly’ preview screenings of the animated adventure film Rio 2 (U). This friendly day will be on Wednesday 2nd April at 1pm and 4.30pm.
Tickets for the event will be priced at a discounted rate of £4.00 per person, although carers are admitted free (one carer per person if required).
These autism awareness friendly screenings will provide a comfortable atmosphere for those who suffer from autism. Also families and carers will be able to enjoy the film in a cosy environment.
The setting will be be made for comfort by having dull and low lighting in the screening room, having the sound on low, along with no advertisements before or during the film also there will be no noise limit and they will be able to move around as freely as they please.

About the film; It’s a jungle out there for Blu, Jewel and their three children in Rio 2, after they’re hurled from that magical city to the winds of the Amazon. A Blu tries to fit in, he goes beak-to-beak with the vengeful Nigel, and meets the most threatening fearsome adversary of all… his father-in-law.
