Consett Empire Theatre are going to present a brand new children’s production by an award-winning theatre company.
The children’s production is Pirate Gran, and follows the adventures of ‘Gran’ and her crew. It is based on the incredibly popular and successful books by Geraldine Durrant and Rose Forshall, including Pirate Gran Goes for Gold and Pirate Gran and The Monsters.

The Pirate Gran production is recommended for children aged 3 years and older and their family, brought to life with puppets designed by the associate puppetry director of the National Theatre’s production of War Horse, Toby Olié.
Scamp Theatre is the award-winning theatre company putting on the show at Consett Empire Theatre; the company was founded in 2003 by international producers Jennifer Sutherland and Louise Callow. They present a range of live performances to a wide range of audiences, some of the recent successes include; Stick Man, Tiddler and Other Terrific Tales, and Private Peaceful.

Consett Empire Theatre is a popular venue in the centre of Consett with a capacity of 500 – high quality presentations are regularly conducted on the site, including the latest films.
