E3 2014 day one is over, here is just some of the most interesting highlights:

Mirror’s Edge

Many people were concerned that, with the news of a Mirror’s Edge sequel, the game would become a lot more in line with other popular products – especially with the reign of FPS still going strong – but those concerns seem to be largely misplaced, the trailer shows that it has remained very much true to the style of its predecessor with parkour staying as the main focus of the action.

Grand Theft Auto V

Grand Theft Auto V was released late last year to a generally positive reception, both critics and gamers seemed E3 2014largely impressed by the new features and at least appeased to see some of the old classics still available. One of the hot topics at the time though was the question of whether it would be available to PC Gamers, and more recently whether it would be coming to PlayStation 4/Xbox One consoles. Well, at E3 2014 we have eventually found out that it is scheduled to come to both new consoles and PC platforms later this year, probably in Q4.

Fifa 15

After the drastically low products presented last year it’s no wonder that EA have brought something a bit more meaty to the party this year at E3 2014, a next-gen edition of the hugely popular Fifa series available on PC. The minimum and recommended specifications certainly aren’t insignificant (Ati Radeon HD 5770 or NVIDIA GTZ 650 graphics cards alone) but it’s nothing eye-wateringly expensive either, considering the history of minimal effort PC ports this is great news for PC gamers.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare

No gaming year would be complete without one variation or another of the insanely popular and successful Call of Duty series. This year it looks like we’ll be getting Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, which follows on logically from the previous installment (Call of Duty: Ghosts) with yet more advanced technology and the even more unexpected setting of an almost apocalyptic South Korean city. Staying true with innumerable previous games, Advanced Warfare is scheduled for release in early November. You can watch the full gameplay showcase here.

We’ll keep you up to date with the best highlights from E3 2014 so check back soon to find out what else has been announced.
