A brave group of men have come together to produce a charity calendar for 2015 in aid of Bright Red.
In an unusual twist the blokes thought they would be able to do it just as well as the girls and challenged themselves to become professional calendar girls for the photoshoot. With help from a team of make-up artists and a professional photographer the twelve men were transformed into beautiful women for the day.
Neil Raine is the man that organised the project in March 2014. He was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 2008 
and after ten months of treatment involving both chemotherapy and radiotherapy he was given the all clear in mid-2009. Earlier this year Neil decided that he wanted to give something to Bright Red and to give thanks to everyone that had helped him. A charity calendar with a special twist seemed perfect.
After months of planning the photoshoot went ahead on Sunday 8th June with the fantastic volunteers and the whole production team on-location in Durham to become beautiful, get in touch with their feminine side, and have their photos taken for the calendar. All proceeds from the production of the calendar will be going to Bright Red.
Bright Red is a great charity based in the north east that works to improve the lives and treatment of people that are dealing with blood cancer. Through care, research and education they are working tirelessly to beat illnesses such as leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma, myelodysplasia and myeloproliferative diseases. The twelve brave men are: Neil Raine, Gavin Beverley, Steven Hindson, Steven Clark, Michael Riddle, David Stubbs, David Thompson, Darren Longstaff, John Edgar, Rory Fahey, Nathan Sherrard and Billy Middleton.
