SEAT in the north east was delighted to sponsor the event.

When Shotley Bridge Cricket Club decided to hold its first beer festival in 2008 it was never expected to grow into the largest event of its kind in Derwentside.

Club Secretary Rob Grinter said “The festival provides the club with funds for our ambitious junior development programme. Our under 18s team won their league for the second year running this year and the backing of Pulman Group for grass roots cricket is a welcome boost”.

Pulman Group Communications Manager Chris Slater said “We have strong links with Shotley Bridge and its most famous player Paul Collingwood. Helping the grass roots cricket is extremely rewarding and the event will be a fantastic success”.

Now in its seventh year the festival will showcase 50 beers and 20 ciders from all over the UK with prices still at the 2008 price of £1 a half pint. The only exception is the legendary Skullsplitter which has become something of a favourite with our regular customers.

The festival is open from 6.00pm to 11.00pm on Friday 22nd August and between 11.00am to 11.00pm on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th August.

Entry to the beer festival is only £5 for the whole weekend which includes a commemorative glass and full colour programme.

Come along and enjoy beer at its best …..oh and cider too.
