As the last remnants of the winter disppear and the spring moves in, the 2015 charity fundraising season begins with the first of the independent fundraising events taking place on 22 March on behalf of the Tickled Pink Campaign.

Local charity fundraiser Julie Spence and J S Events will be hosting the Spring Charity Family Funday, to raise money for Tickled Pink Campaign in association with ASDA Stanley.

The amazing afternoon of fun promises to have something for everyone as the Beamish and East Stanley cricket club opens its doors between 12pm and 4pm to families with a free programme that includes the attendance of mascots, bouncy castles, a gladiator podium, the ever popular face painting, an Easter egg tombola, Adult Tombola, bungee run, penalty shootout and many, many other attractions.

The day will be rounded off with a live local band, Lana and the drivers.

Event organiser Julie Spence, 28, commented on her inspiration for the event, “I’m doing the event as part of my degree and after finding out a couple years ago I had M.E / chronic fatigue syndrome. I went back to uni to retrain for a job I loved and am very passionate about.
My event is for my degree and I decided to do it in my home town to get as many local businesses involved as I could to raise money for good cause.
It’s a great way for the community to get involved to raise money for a good cause and all the funds raised go to the Tickled Pink Breast Cancer Charity ”
