So, “Global” was the last video shop standing, but not for long. Out of the blue the shop closed down as the company had went into administration.

The company tried many things to keep the store going. Some stores even went as far as having sunbeds in stores. This idea seemed very strange to me.

It was sad to see that now of the video shop in Consett close down. One of the saddest parts for me was Global’s best employee, Beryl Lawes loosing her job.

Beryl love what she did and showed passion for video. She tried everything in the final days to keep the shop going.
