Did you know that it is relatively easy to take your pets on holiday with you, particularly if you tend to drive to Europe? All they require is a microchip, a rabies vaccine and to have been issued with a Pet Passport by a licensed vet. The important thing is not to leave it to the last minute as the pet must have the rabies vaccine at least 3 weeks prior to travelling. When returning to this country your pet needs to be treated by a licensed vet (and those near ports are very familiar with this) with a product that kills tapeworms. It’s as simple as that. Talk to your vet about taking your pet on holiday, and they will advise about the health risks and preventatives available.
