Now that we are finally getting some nice weather please remember not to leave your dog in a hot car. Even if you open a window the vehicle will get extremely hot, surprisingly quickly – even if it is only 22 degrees outside the car will get to 47 degrees in a short time.

As the dog pants to cool down the humidity in the car rises quickly which makes it even more difficult for the dog to further cool down, and they very quickly develop heatstroke. This is an emergency and needs treating quickly – take your dog to the nearest vet as soon as possible. But, like many things in life, prevention is better than cure.
