A local football club has received a timely birthday present to celebrate their 50th anniversary. Blackhill and Ebchester Football Club were presented with a new kit by Consett based HR consultancy Mark David HR at their new home at Consett Academy.

The club play in the Durham Alliance Combination League on a Saturday afternoon at the excellent 4G facilities at Consett Academy. Manager Ken Parkin and Chairman Tim Brown have been in their roles for over 12 and 35 years respectively and their dedication impressed Rob Grinter of Mark David HR who’s son Mark was managed by Ken many years ago.  “Without people like Ken many young people would not get a chance to play local football. A lot of local teams have folded due to a lack of people willing to give up their time to coach players so I am pleased to be able to support Ken and Tim who have given their time to this Club for so many years”.

Ken Parkin said “We really appreciate the support of Mark David HR as this new kit will help us celebrate our 50th year in style. We hope to be here in another 50 years”

New players are always welcome at Ebchester Football Club and anyone who is interested in helping in any capacity should email ebchesterfc@outlook.com or pop along to Blackhill Comrades Club on a Saturday afternoon to meet Ken and the players.
