Consett residents will soon be able to enjoy a Spanish-themed evening, complete with delicious tapas, sangria and the chance to pick up a bit of the Spanish language.
Languages teacher Christine Smith will be hosting the event on Thursday 21st June, at Consett AFC. As well as tasty food and drink, the evening will include themed quizzes and games, such as Spanish bingo.
Christine said, “I regularly host Spanish Tapas Nights around the local area. These are engaging for everyone with a fun, relaxed and very social atmosphere.”
“It’s a great way to try out Spanish with friends and family, meet people and make new connections over a shared love of languages.”
Christine also offers Spanish and French tuition for individuals and groups of all ages and levels. Christine said, “This is a personal friendly service tailored to your specific needs.”
“Some students need exam support, others have properties abroad or would like to enjoy their holidays more, and others just want a new experience.”
Christine runs beginner, intermediate and advanced level classes in the Consett area, at venues such as Consett AFC, Consett Station Club, and Number One Club.
Thanks to her languages, Christine has enjoyed an interesting and varied career. She has taught in London and the north east, including a ten-year stint as a teacher and head of languages at a secondary school in Durham.
She has also worked in language-related jobs in the marketing, sport and travel sectors, and has worked as an interpreter at the 2012 London Olympics.
Christine now runs her own language tuition business CGSLS (Christine G. Smith Language Services), which she launched in 2015.
The Spanish Tapas Night will take place between 7.30 and 9.30 pm on Thursday 21st June at Consett AFC. If you would like to attend – or would like more information about language classes – please email Christine at firstname.lastname@example.org.
