Many of us will be planning to hit Newcastle’s shops during the January sales. But along with all the excitement of snaffling up bargains, I think we can all agree that shopping is tiring and hungry work.

You might find that all that tramping between stores and rushing to bag special offers can work up quite an appetite. However, with the tight budgets many of us are experiencing, not everyone wants to fork out more than they have to for food.

But now one excellent Newcastle restaurant is now offering an incredibly good deal – a two-course meal with drinks for two people for just £11.95.

You can choose from tasty starters including steamed mussels with tomato, chilli and garlic; fresh mozzarella and tomato bruschetta; and paté of the day with mango chutney and salad.

But be sure to leave enough room for main courses such as spaghetti seafood with squid, mussels and salmon; wholemeal pancake stuffed with chicken and béchamel sauce; Moroccan lamb kofta with home made hummus; and lentil and butternut casserole with saffron potatoes and spinach.

Or maybe you’d prefer to skip the starter and instead enjoy a dessert. Options include home made tiramisu, vanilla panna cotta with fruit compote, vanilla cheesecake with mixed berry compote, and home made chocolate cake with Italian ice-cream.

These delicious dishes can be enjoyed at Paradiso, a restaurant specialising in Italian and Mediterranean cuisine right in the heart of Newcastle – for a price that works out at just over a fiver per person.

This limited-time special offer represents a 50% discount on the normal price. One drink per person is included in the deal – and diners can choose from wine, prosecco, beer or a soft drink.

A good range of vegan, vegetarian and wheat-free dishes are also available as part of the offer.

Paradiso has been dishing up the best the Mediterranean can provide in the heart of Newcastle for 22 years. Boasting 4.5 out of five stars on Trip Advisor, this stylish restaurant has three floors to choose from.

To enjoy this special offer, you just need to purchase a voucher. You could use the voucher to treat yourself and a friend or it could make a fantastic Christmas gift for any keen bargain hunters in the family. It would also be great for a night out or a romantic lunch in the city.

The voucher can be redeemed for up to three months after purchase.
