Stanley’s Louisa Centre will soon be playing host to a free Toy-Story-themed family swim, with kiddies big and small getting to meet some of their favourite characters.

As well as featuring much-loved characters – such as Woody and Buzz – the swimming session will include 10 fun family activities, such as the Alien Crane Game and Jessie’s Lasso Fun.

There will be two free Toy Story swims in total – on Saturday June 1st at The Louisa Centre, Stanley, from 1.15 pm to 2.00 pm, and at Spennymoor Leisure Centre on the same day, between 3.30 pm and 4.15 pm.

Places for the free sessions are limited so booking in advance is essential. To book places, please call The Luisa Centre on 03000 262 444 or Spennymoor Leisure Centre on 03000 261 161.

The free sessions will launch a regular programme of Toy-Story-themed swims at both venues.

Weekly sessions will be held at The Luisa Centre on Tuesdays between 11.30 am and 12.15 pm.

At Spennymoor, weekly sessions will take place on Mondays between 10.45 am and 11.30 am during term time and from 9.00 am to 9.45 am during the school holidays.

These sessions are priced at £4 for one adult and one child (all children must be accompanied by an adult) and are pay-as-you-go.

Kaye Stephenson, Durham County Council’s principal aquatics manager, said, “The Disney sessions are a fantastic way to keep your family healthy, happy and active this summer.”

“They’re aimed at three to eleven-year-olds and their families and are the perfect way to learn essential swimming skills whilst having loads of fun with colourful props and lots of exciting games.”

The Toy Story swimming sessions have been organised thanks to a partnership between Swim England and Disney, following the success of the Finding Dory swimming sessions, which ran in 2016.
