A 19th Century 18ct Gold Georgian Pocket Watch will go on sale at a North East Auctioneers on the 1st July. The Pocket Watch was a gift to Dr. George Roddem from her royal highness The Princess Charlotte of Wales.
It’s inscription reads:
From Her Royal Highness THE PRINCESS CHARLOTTE OF WALES to Dr Roddam As a Mark of H.R.H Remembrance of his great attention & for the benefit H.R.H has derived from his professional advice. King lodge WEYMOUTH JAN, 1st, 1816’
The watch is Hallmarked 18ct gold, London, 1815. Marker John Barwise, St Martin in the fields, London.
Dr. George Roddem was born in Northumberland and acted as physician to Princess Charlotte of Wales during a personal period in her life.
