Local Nursery Gets Celebrity Visit for Child Safety Award

We’d like to formally announce the unveiling of the Millie’s Mark plaque at Shotley Bridge Nursery School in Consett, County Durham on Saturday the 15th of June, 2019.

Millie’s Mark is an accreditation which was set up for outstanding child care providers whose staff are all fully trained in Paediatric First Aid.

Right now, child care providers in the United Kingdom are only required to have one person trained in first aid on the premises at any time. Millie’s Mark is an accreditation set up in the memory of nine month old Millie Thompson who died while choking at her nursery school. It recognizes exceptional providers who go above and beyond the legal requirements by training all their staff in Pediatric First Aid.

Hosted by BAFTA Award-winning TV presenter Dr. Ranj Singh, the event will be attended by prominent members of the community as well as press and representatives from the NDNA.

We invite the press to come along, cover the event, and enjoy an afternoon of celebration at Shotley Bridge Nursery School. For more information on the event or to confirm attendance, you should express interest via email to: laura.bowery@shotleybridge-nurseryschool.co.uk
