A Facebook group has been set up to ask for help from volunteers and provide assistance to vulnerable people in the local community during the coronavirus crisis.
At the time of publishing, the group “CORONA Vulnerable People And Volunteers (consett, Lanchester, Stanley)” has amassed almost 2,300 members in just 5 days.

The group have organised themselves with great haste and has already split the individual needs of different types of people into nine categories with nine people in charge of each group:

Medical advice

Vulnerable people / leaflet distribution
There’s also someone assisting with sanitary products, which will be a great help to those in need at this time.
Volunteers are being asked to visit the Facebook group and contact the relevant organiser to offer their assistance.
