An eggstrodinary amount of Easter eggs have been donated to good causes throughout the North East.

The Northumbria Chapter of the Widows Son’s Masonic Bikers Association have been gifted hundreds of Easter Eggs by generous supermarkets, businesses and kind-hearted individuals and masonic lodges from the Province of Northumberland to distribute to a number of special schools, food banks, care homes, veterans’ charities and youth centres across the region. It is anticipated that the bikers travelling in small groups observing strict COVID regulations will be delivering more than 1500 Easter eggs leading up to Good Friday.

Widows Sons Secretary, Tom Stewart was delighted with the generosity of everyone who donated eggs or money to help put Easter cheer into the region.

“Everyone has been so generous and I’m really grateful for the help we’ve been given by so many businesses, lodges and individuals but particular thanks must go to a host of supermarkets who has been really eggcellent.

“The latest donation is from Tesco Extra in Consett where we received a large number of eggs which will be distributed to good causes leading up to Easter.”

The Widows Sons is open to all Freemasons who enjoy the sport of motorcycling and throughout the year they help to raise awareness of the work of the organisation as well as raising much-needed funds for charity themselves.
