The Consett Park Bowling Club is hosting a invitation only open pairs competition on Sunday 15th August from 9am until late. A number of local clubs are being invited from across the North East. The event is sponsored by Consett Computers, Specsavers Consett, Promotiontime NE and Peter Haney Doors & Windows.
The club is in it’s 98th year, and will celebrate it’s centenary in 2023.
From September to March the Club plays carpet balls in clubhouse and is open to the public on Sundays. Both outdoor and indoor bowls are very sociable, good fun and provide gentle exercise for all ages. The club also plays in local bowls leagues, as well as, county and national competitions. The club also has its own bar and free Wi-Fi. Training and coaching sessions are also available, particularly for new members from our qualified and experienced coaches.
“This social sport is suitable for all levels of fitness because it is a gentle way to get active, the rules are simple and there is a social side to the game.” said, a British Heart Foundation representative.
