Richard Holden, Member of Parliament for North West Durham, joined MPs from across Parliament today in taking part in the “Parliamentary Poppy Ride” in Parliament.
Richard cycled almost one a half miles in 5 minutes as part of a scheme where lots of MPs do time slots one after the other for 12 hours to help raise funds and awareness of the Poppy Appeal.
This was the 5th IPT Poppy Ride, in association with the Royal British Legion, raises funds and awareness for the Poppy Appeal in Parliament, in the centenary year of the foundation of the Royal British Legion. All money raised on the day helps The Royal British Legion provide lifelong financial, social, and emotional support for the Armed Forces community – serving men and women, veterans, and their families.
Richard Holden, Member of Parliament for North West Durham, said:

”I will always stick up for our forces and our veterans I was delighted to take part in today’s Poppy Ride in Parliament today to show my support too ahead of Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday in the coming weeks.
“I urge everyone in North West Durham to get involved in the Poppy Appeal, buy a poppy and show their support for our forces and our veterans.”
