Lanchester Flower Club was formed in 1973 when a group of ladies thought it was a good idea to form a flower club and to join The National association of flower arrangement societies Northumberland and Durham Area. The club will celebrate 50 years next year which is quite an achievement.

The club over the years have taken part in many of the area Flower Festivals like our first in Raby Castle and the last at Ushaw College in 2018. We also took part in the tribute to Princess Diana in Durham Cathedral. In 1988 All Saints Parish Church asked us to help organise a Festival called Living Stones which was a great success over the 4 days and raised over £4000. We have helped with many church flower festivals In the area as well, all in aid of different charities.

We meet at Lanchester Community Centre and we regularly have area demonstrators giving us wonderful afternoons filled with beautiful arrangements which are then raffled off to the delight of the winners. We also have speakers on a variety of subjects from plant and gardens and history etc, social afternoons with tea and cake. We always finish our afternoons with a nice cuppa and a chat with friends old and new. We have outings to various gardens, this year we are going to Eggleston Hall Gardens followed by a very nice lunch.

The aim of the club is to encourage members to enjoy and learn new skills with flowers and foliage to produce arrangements for their homes.

We meet on the 4th Wednesday of the month at 2pm (except August and December) at Lanchester Community Centre why not come and join us you would be most welcome. If you would like anymore information please contact Kath on 07976545562 or Helen on 01207503667
