At its core, bridge is a trick-taking game played with a standard deck of 52 cards. The game is typically played by four players, divided into two partnerships. Partners sit opposite each other at the table, allowing for strategic communication through bidding and play.

The objective of bridge is to score points by winning tricks, which are sequences of cards played in turn. Players use a combination of skill, strategy, and communication to outmanoeuvre their opponents and achieve the highest score. The bidding phase, where players communicate the strength of their hands and desired contract, adds an exciting layer of depth to the game.
