The Castleside Village Hall in Consett, County Durham, is turning 100 this October! A century of hosting community events, weddings, christenings, and funerals has solidified the hall’s place as the heart of Castleside.

The Village Hall is calling on all with memories of their time there to share their stories. Did you attend a wedding reception, a class, or perhaps browse the stalls at the monthly Artisan Market? Share your experiences!

A commemorative booklet is being compiled to celebrate the hall’s rich history. This article offers a sneak peek at what you can expect, highlighting the hall’s ongoing commitment to the community.

Run entirely by volunteers and operating as a charity, the hall offers a variety of services:

  • Licensed venue for weddings, christenings, and funerals.
  • Accommodation for up to 120 guests.
  • Weekly and monthly classes.
  • A monthly Artisan Market and coffee morning

Stay Active and Connect
