This month, Consett Lions Club hosted a memorable evening of celebration, leadership transition, and fundraising. Outgoing President Neal Waby handed over the Chains of Office to new President Ken Toward. We wish Ken all the best as he steps into his new role, continuing the club’s legacy of service.

The evening honoured two dedicated volunteers, Ian and Judith Cook, who received Certificates of Appreciation for their longstanding commitment to humanitarianism. Their contributions to the community are deeply valued.

The club’s fundraising efforts also got a boost, with a generous £400 donation from their 100 Club initiative, supporting future projects. District Governor Gill Swann was present, engaging in discussions about the club’s future plans and membership goals.

Earlier in the month, the club supported the launch of Consett @ Play at Willow Burn Hospice and Gardens, a project capturing the essence of Consett’s community through photography.

Looking ahead, the Town Hall Raffle 2024 is in full swing, with tickets available from local groups. The draw will take place on 21st November 2024 at the Steel Club in Consett.
