Consett Rotary were blown away by the fantastic turnout for the annual Rotary Consett charity golf day, which was held at the beautiful South Moor Golf Club. The event attracted a brilliant mix of local golfers, businesses, and supporters who all came together to make the day such a huge success.
A total of 156 golfers took part, enjoying both the competition and the chance to contribute to two very important causes. Alongside them, local businesses generously stepped forward to sponsor the day, showing the strength of community spirit in our area.
Thanks to the combined effort of everyone involved, a staggering six thousand pounds was raised. The funds will go directly to supporting Willow Burn Hospice, which provides essential care for local people and their families, and to charities that work tirelessly to support men affected by prostate cancer.
A very special thank you goes to our main sponsor, Travis Perkins. They not only provided a fantastic range of prizes but also offered invaluable on-course support throughout the entire day, helping to make the event run smoothly from start to finish.
We would also like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to every single person who kindly and generously donated prizes. These contributions made a real difference and were a big part of why the event was so successful.
With such incredible backing and encouragement from the community this year, Consett Rotary are already looking ahead and planning to do it all again next year. We could not have achieved this without the wonderful support of golfers, businesses, volunteers, and friends.
