Consett in Focus: Local Stories Through the Lens
Consett in Focus is a small but passionate group of local photographers who began their journey during the COVID-19 pandemic, capturing the impact of those challenging times on our community. Since then, they’ve continued to chronicle life in and around Consett through a series of projects that reflect our shared heritage and identity.
Some of their past projects include:
- Consett Corona Photo Project (2020–2022)
- Consett – Town of Culture (2022)
- Consett@Play (2023)
- Work and Trades (2024)
They’ve also produced a range of mini projects, from local churches and aerial views to features on allotments and the fire service.
A Community Favourite
Here at Consett Magazine, we absolutely love the Consett in Focus project. Over the past few months, we’ve had the pleasure of sharing many of their inspiring photo stories, and this exhibition promises to be another fantastic addition.
The Sons and Daughters of Leadgate exhibition isn’t just about photography, it’s about pride in our people and the importance of recognising everyday achievements. It’s a reminder that community matters, and every face has a story worth telling.
Don’t miss your chance to see it.

Well done to all involved in this magazine.
