Founded by David Lowes from Consett and run with his partner Rachel, who leads their thriving grooming salon, Greencroft Dog Day Care is a true local, family-run business built on love, trust, and community.
Based right next to Krazy Kingdom — the popular kids’ play area — the centre has welcomed over 28,000 visits in the last five years, proving just how valued they are by local dog owners.
In their 5th year, they’re proud to have expanded into the Raw Dog Food and Natural Treats business with the acquisition of Mutts Menu, creating a one-stop shop for all your dog’s needs.
They now stock a fantastic range of premium raw food brands, including Durham Animal Feeds, Dibo, Prime Raw, Dougie’s, and Henley’s, along with natural treats, Frozzys, and Jude’s frozen yoghurts — everything to keep tails wagging!
They’re thrilled to have been awarded another 5 Star Animal Welfare Licence for the next three years, following a successful inspection by County Durham Animal Welfare. This is a huge credit to the passion and dedication of their brilliant team: Callum Bragan, Billie Orr, and Maddie Hayes, who help make every dog’s day feel special.
Giving back to the community is at the heart of what they do. Alongside running the business, David and Rachel also volunteer locally at Moorside BabyBank and the weekly Community Meals at St John’s Church Hall — something they’re incredibly proud of.
Supporting their neighbours and strengthening local connections means just as much to them as caring for your pets.
