Every Tuesday during term time, the cosy and welcoming Nice Bites Café at Leadgate Salvation Army opens its doors to the community, serving up a hearty two-course hot lunch prepared with care by the talented Clare and Liz — all at a fantastic price that won’t break the bank.
Each week, they cook more than 80 meals, supported by a dedicated and hard-working team of volunteers. These wonderful helpers do everything from setting tables and serving food to washing up and getting the hall ready for Sunday service. Their behind-the-scenes support ensures everything runs smoothly and everyone feels welcome.
The café also extends its kindness beyond the building, delivering meals to local residents at Haven House and The Haven, bringing a bit of cheer and nourishment to those who can’t attend in person.
