Chicken Soup Poem by Lorraine Weightman and Illustration by Fr John Bagnall

I had chicken soup for breakfast,

I had chicken soup for tea,

I had chicken soup at lunchtime,

What is the matter with me?

I had chicken soup on Monday,

On Tuesday I had it too,

By Wednesday it was getting thick,

So I didn’t know what to do.

The chicken soup on Thursday,

 Was thin and rather runny,

By Friday, it ran out the door

I didn’t find that funny!

On Saturday I was hungry,

And my face began to droop,

So on Sunday I filled my cooking pot,

With my homemade chicken soup!
