A local dance school is celebrating a remarkable achievement after being selected to perform at the world-renowned Walt Disney World Resort in Florida.
The talented young dancers from Sophie Louisa Theatre Dance School, based in Leadgate, Consett, successfully auditioned for the incredible opportunity and will now travel to Orlando in August to showcase their skills on one of the biggest stages in family entertainment.
For the children involved, the trip is much more than just a performance. It represents months of dedication, hard work, rehearsals and commitment to dance. Excitement has been building among the students and their families ever since the school received the news that they had been chosen.
Principal and founder Sophie Reddy said the achievement is a huge moment for the dance school and the wider community.
“We are unbelievably proud of every single dancer. To be selected to perform at Disney World is a huge honour and an experience the children will remember for the rest of their lives. They have worked so hard for this opportunity.”
The group will perform in front of international visitors at the iconic Florida resort, giving the young performers the chance to experience professional-level performance standards while creating unforgettable memories with their teammates and families.
Parents have also spoken of their pride and excitement, describing the trip as a dream come true for their children.
“One minute they’re dancing in the local dance studio and the next they’re heading to Disney World in America!”, said one parent.
“The confidence, friendships and life experiences they’re gaining from this are absolutely priceless.”
Alongside rehearsals and fundraising efforts, the dancers are now preparing for the adventure of a lifetime – one filled with magic, music and unforgettable moments.
