The thriving Blackhill Bridge Club is excited to welcome seven new members who have successfully completed this year’s beginner’s class, led by the wonderful Carol. The new members bring a mix of experiences, from seasoned players to those new to the game. Andrew and Helen, after early retirement, fulfilled their long-standing desire to learn bridge, while Hayley joined for a more relaxed playing environment, despite already knowing how to play. Olwyn wanted to refresh her skills, and brought Gordon along, who is now glad he stayed to learn the game. Jim returned to bridge for a fresh challenge and new friendships, and Michael joined after recovering from illness, enjoying the game while improving his memory.
The club, based at Blackhill Community Centre, is a friendly group of 21 active members who meet every Wednesday from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Newcomers and experienced players alike are always welcome, making it an ideal spot for anyone looking to learn or improve their game.
For those interested in learning bridge, the club is offering a Beginner’s Course from April to September 2025. Whether you’re completely new or need to brush up on your skills, this course will guide you through the basics with expert instruction.
