One of Dupstep’s original stars Benga will be releasing his 14 track studio album Chapter II on the 6th of May though Sony Music. Known for his hard hitting rhythms and deep sub bass Benga was one of the original innovators of Dubstep music who help take it from the dark, underground clubs across the UK into arenas around the world. The album has been in production since as far back as 2011 and 3 singles have already been released over the past couple of years. Benga has done well to stay true to his original roots but still has an innovative feel to his composition. This May album releases is a must for any big Dubstep fans out there.

For Indie Rock fans, May sees the release of the newest album to come from the American indie band Vampire Weekend. Modern Vampires to the City is the title of the bands 3rd release which is due to land in stores on the 14th of May. A double A side has been released with the tracks “Diane Young” and “Step” which helps to give what sort of feel Vampire Weekend have strived to achieve in this new album. Raw guitar tones, springy bassline and a solid drum track all lend themselves to the chaotic yet happy feeling which only Vampire Weekend could create.

The final May album release we are going to look at is a big one. Since writing the whole soundtrack to Disney’s Tron Legacy, Daft Punk have been in hiding and not very much has been known about what the French duo had been up to. Only recently it had been announced that their 4th studio album “Random Access Memories” will be released on the 17th of May. This news has sent electro fans around the world into raptures only increasing when the first single “Get Lucky feat. Pharrell Williams” was released. This now become Daft Punk’s first ever UK number one after topping the charts last week. The elusive team behind Daft Punk have clearly created something special and the whole world wants to know what else lies in store. This could well be the biggest of all of the May album releases.
