Mini Bus Appeal : Sent to Consett Magazine by Robyn Travers.
“I am the Deputy Manager for Real Choice College in Consett. We are a specialist day College for young people with a range of profound/learning and physical disabilities including Autism, Cerebral Palsy and Down’s Syndrome in the North East of England. When I started I had the lofty ambition that I would change the student’s lives for the better, when in reality, it is them that have changed mine. They will never have the capacity to understand this, so please help me raise these funds to show my appreciation the best way I know how.
Many of our students are in wheelchairs due to their disabilities and we are in DESPERATE need for a 17 seat wheelchair accessible minibus in order for them to be included in the diverse society we live in.
I know I can speak on behalf of the students and staff at Real Choice when I say that this minibus will dramatically change their lives. It will make them feel valued and included in society and raise their self-esteem by providing them with a better quality of day to day life overall. PLEASE support us!!”
