Durham County Council has launched an online directory of local organisations, activities and support services.
Connecting County Durham replaces the council’s old Families Information Service and Locate websites, and has been designed in partnership with local people and organisations.
The directory covers care and support organisations, activities and social groups, mental and physical wellbeing services, childcare and family support, and services for special educational needs and disabilities.
Residents can search by keyword, filter by category, or look up services by postcode. The site also links through to further information on key topics such as mental health, care services and the SEND Local Offer.
A booklet tool lets users save listings they find useful and share them with friends, family or service users by email, link code, or by printing them out.
The council says the site is intended to improve accessibility, reduce information gaps and support prevention and early help across communities.
Registration is free for organisations wanting to promote their services, which in turn helps strengthen the local support network for residents.
The directory is live now at connectingcountydurham.co.uk
