Conservative Party Chairman Supporting Conservative Local Government On Her Third Visit

Conservative Party Chairman and Cabinet Minister, Rt Hon Amanda Milling MP, made her third visit to North West Durham since the 2019 election to support Conservative local Government candidates on the 8th.

She visited Lanchester Garden Centre with local MP Richard Holden to talk with Trevor and Emma about the effect that Coronavirus has had on their local business and the huge reopening fund that the Government is making available which, like the grant scheme, will be administered by the Council.

Amanda then visited Lanchester supporting candidates Doug Oliver and Mike McGaun on the doorstep where it’s a tight two-way battle between Doug and Mike and the two Labour candidates after the longstanding local councillors retired.

Welcoming the plans, Richard Holden, the MP for North West Durham, said: “It was fantastic to have a third visit from the Conservative Chairman to North West Durham.

“After 102 years of Labour in power in County Durham and them spending £50,000,000+ on their new County Hall on a floodplain, the message we’re getting on the doorstep is that it’s time for a change locally.

“Everyone saw the change that was able to happen when everyone united against Labour at the last general election. Now we need to do the same at County Hall and get the real change we need. Only a vote for the Conservatives will deliver that and today’s visit highlights just how seriously County Durham and the whole North East is being taken by the Conservative Party and the Government.”
