The Consett Comedy Festival is back with a bang for 2025, promising a long weekend full of laughs, big names, and family-friendly fun from Thursday 1st to Sunday 4th May.
A Stellar Lineup of Comedy Talent
The festival kicks off on Thursday 1st May with the New Act/New Material Night, offering audiences the chance to discover the next big comedy stars from the North East. Expect fresh voices, raw talent, and unpredictable brilliance in this intimate showcase.
On Friday 2nd May, the festival brings the heavy hitters. Gary Delaney, famed for his razor-sharp one-liners on Live at the Apollo and Mock the Week, headlines a powerhouse evening. He’ll be joined by Hayley Ellis, Aurie Styla, Connor Read, and Matt Reed, promising a packed night of top-tier stand-up.
Saturday: Laughs for All Ages
Saturday 3rd May features a double bill.
In the afternoon, families can enjoy a riotous performance from Newcastle panto legends Danny Adams, Clive Webb, and Mick Potts. Known for their CBBC show Danny & Mick and Cirque Du Hilarious, the trio delivers a high-energy, all-ages comedy show.
Come the evening, Seann Walsh (Live at the Apollo, Strictly Come Dancing) takes centre stage. He’ll be supported by Kai Humphries, Archie Kelly (Phoenix Nights, Brassic), and rising comedy duo Jack & Sam. The night will be hosted by Kelly Rickard, whose journey from new act to main stage MC is a highlight of the festival’s spirit.
Sunday Tour Specials
Sunday 4th May brings two unique shows:
- An Audience with Mick Miller – a 45-minute Q&A followed by a 45-minute set from the legendary comic.
- Steffen Peddie: Should Know Better – The North East’s favourite funnyman returns with his latest tour show.
