Consett Repair Cafe meets at The Hub, Consett, on the second Wednesday of each month. Its next session is on Wednesday 11 November, 12 to 3pm.
Bring along a broken item and the volunteer fixers will try to diagnose the problem, attempt a repair and suggest tips for future fixes. Donations for repairs go to local charity.
So far the cafe has fixed clocks, games consoles, laptops, kitchen appliances, vacuum cleaners, a disability scooter and even a vintage valve radio, and it restores furniture too.
