💛 Celebrating Our Community – June 2025

This month’s Consett Magazine is a celebration of the people who quietly shape our community every day.

We meet Ian Fewnwick, who’s spent nearly 20 years keeping Leadgate clean and welcoming; the brilliant team at Shotley Bridge Nursery School, where care and kindness are central to everything they do; and Darren Walsh at Greencroft Bottling, whose journey shows how learning and dedication can lead to remarkable progress.

We shine a light on local passion and teamwork – from the Curlabull Dog Training group’s success at Crufts to Consett Citizens Choir, now led by the thoughtful and talented Andrew Fiddes.

And we’re honoured to share the story of Ken Brown – a proud Korean War veteran whose life of resilience and service continues to inspire those around him.

Every story in this issue reminds us how much good is happening here in Consett. It’s why this magazine exists – to celebrate our neighbours, our values, and the spirit that holds us together.
