Each day he shines
For a “beach’s past.”
An image of steel.
To courage cast.
He hangs in honour
For the many lost.
A tiny grave.
Of the human cost.

Now a solid cross
To bombs each day.
A show of faith.
He had to pay.
The “cries” now gone.
That key to peace.
It’s a holy plea.
For war to cease.
A fame now hung.
For all to see.
“A medal of honour”
ever to be.
