Badminton is a racquet sport where players hit a shuttlecock over a net, played as singles or doubles. Points are scored when the shuttlecock lands in the opponent’s court, with only one hit allowed per side. Its feathered design creates high air resistance, making it unique—and despite slowing quickly, Badminton is the fastest of all racquet sports.

Lanchester Badminton Club meets at Croft View Halls every Monday from 10am–12 noon and has run for over 40 years. It’s a friendly, social club focused on doubles play, with local rules adapted for the lower ceiling.

The group has around 12–14 members of mixed ages who play for enjoyment and community.
