Jack Abbott, Arthur Agar, and Jack Dixon performed as the Three Crows hence the outfit. They came from different backgrounds with Jack Abbott never having sung before. Jack Dixon was a childhood musical prodigy well-known in the Consett area. Arthur Agar was a born comedian and because he was smaller than the other two often finished the routine in their arms.

Humour, friendship and community spirit were just as important as music in the story of the Consett Citizens Choir. From memorable rehearsals to the comic performances of Arthur Agar and The Three Crows, the Choir became a reflection of Consett itself, hardworking, talented and full of character.
