Consett Town Centre is set to host a high-energy day of sport and family fun as the Tour of the Reservoir Cycle Race comes to town on Sunday 22nd June, from 9am to 5pm. For the first time, the elite cycle race will both start and finish in the heart of Consett, bringing national-level cycling right to the streets.
Cycle Festival for All Ages
As part of the action-packed day, the Consett Cycle Festival will also take place, organised by AH Events Ltd on behalf of the Project Genesis Trust. With additional backing from former Derwent Valley Partnership and other local sponsors, the event promises to be a completely free family-friendly celebration.
Live Entertainment, Music and Activities
The festival atmosphere will take over the town with live entertainment, music performances, activities for all ages, and a variety of information stalls. Whether you’re a cycling enthusiast or just looking for a day out with the family, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Community Spirit on Display
Events like the Tour of the Reservoir Cycle Race and the Consett Cycle Festival highlight the vibrant spirit of the local community, while supporting regional sports and family-friendly initiatives. Everyone is encouraged to come along, support the cyclists, and soak in the festival feel.
