CAV Systems is a North East success story; and its headquarters, engineering and manufacturing facilities are right here in Consett at Number One Industrial Estate.

The only provider of fluid-based ice protection systems for the aviation industry, the company’s history can be traced back to 1942, when one of its proprietary technologies – TKS® was developed to tackle the issue of icing on WW2 aircraft.

Spring forward to the present day, and TKS is global market leader; a high-performing anti-ice and de-ice protection system installed to keep aircraft safe when in icing conditions. It protects all the leading edges of an aeroplane, in addition to windshields and propellers.

Employing over 110 people, CAV is the only supplier of fluid-based ice protection systems globally and the foremost supplier of laser perforated surfaces.
