For four decades, Leadgate DIY has been the go-to destination for locals tackling home improvement projects. Conveniently located at the crossroads in the middle of Leadgate, this family-run shop has become an essential part of the village’s community life, offering everything from DIY essentials to fresh fruit and vegetables.
Founded by Brian’s father in 1984, Leadgate DIY celebrated its 40th anniversary in August 2024. Today, the shop is run by Brian, with the help of Alan, continuing the family tradition of providing quality products and expert advice. Whether you need a missing screw or guidance on your next project, Brian is always on hand to assist with his wealth of knowledge.
Unlike sprawling megastores that leave shoppers wandering aisles without help, Leadgate DIY offers a personal touch and a well-stocked inventory of tools, hardware, and supplies tailored to local needs. Its central location and reputation for reliability have made it one of the most important businesses in Leadgate, serving as a lifeline for residents who value convenience and community over corporate chains.
As Leadgate DIY looks to the future, its legacy of service and commitment to the village remains strong. This local institution continues to embody the spirit of small businesses that form the backbone of communities like Leadgate—helping neighbours build, repair, and improve their homes with care and expertise.
